Shouvik Ghosh, Mohunbagan left-back has recovered from the injury and is rearing to go. Team Mohunbagan in a candid chat with the ace footballer
TM: Good Evening Shouvik. How are you? Belated Happy Diwali.
SG: Good evening. I am fine. Same to you.
TM: Shouvik, as you know, many of our fans have also send some questions for you. Therefore, we shall be asking those along with our own questionnaire if it is okay with you.
SG: Absolutely fine.
Am honoured and very happy to know that Mohunbagan fans love me so much. TM: This question is from Soumyajit Basu (twitter handle: @itheskb)- Shouvikda, are you full fit now? SG: Yes brother. Absolutely fine. Fully recovered. No problem what so ever. TM: Why it has taken so much time to heal? SG: It has taken 5 months to be precise. After that I was match fit and even signed for the last two CFL games, however, team management didn’t want to take chances. After that, we haven’t played any tournaments and thus, it seems so long. TM: This question is from Sudiptamadhab Basu (twitter handle:@sudiptamadhab)- How painful it was to reconcile with his last year’s long layoff due to injury? We added- What exactly happened to you? Can you please elaborate a bit? SG: It was very painful. If you don’t mind, I do not want to talk much about the injury. I only memorize the good things of past and have tried hard to forget those dreadful times. Want to look forward towards the bright future. So, will you mind if I skip this question..? TM: Certainly not mate. TM: Don’t you have any regret for not playing this year’s ISL? Your friends are all playing.. SG: Absolutely no. Looking forward for participating in I League & AFC Championship donning Green & Maroon jersey. I will always get opportunity to play ISL in future if I remain fit and perform well. TM: Shouvik, coming to the point. We are the defending Champions of I League. Expectation from the supporters is huge. Do you think we will be able to retain the crown? How well the preparation going? SG: Why not? Team knows their responsibility, working very hard to reach that goal under the constant supervision and able guidance of Sen Sir & Garcia Sir. We all are aware about the expectations of the fans and will leave no stone unturned to make them happy. TM: Last Derby didn’t go well. Supporters had spent sleepless nights. SG: Frankly speaking we all are looking forward to the I-League derby. Mather jobab mathei debo.. TM: This question is from Gourav Roy (twitter handle:@GBRishh)- How you see your race with Dhanachandra for First XI? SG: I do not see from the angle of being in the race. It’s a healthy competition and always good for a champion team when there is good team spirit. Dhana vai is senior to me and always guide me in all technical aspects. Am always grateful to him for that. TM: This question is from Sumanta Chakraborty (twitter handle: @sumanta48)- Whom do you want to credit most for your safe return to Football field? SG: Undoubtedly Garcia Sir. TM: Shouvik, we all know that Mohunbagan is marred with sponsorship problem. Many a times your salary is getting delayed. Can it result into lack of motivation? SG: No way. Lack of motivation is out of question. We have full confidence on our team management and club management. Issues must be sorted out soon. TM: Shouvik, we know you are getting late. Last three questions. SG: Yes, yes..Carry on. TM: Tell us something about Sony Norde- Superstar of the mariners. SG: Nothing to say about his footballing skills, everybody is aware of it. What people don’t know is his human qualities. Above everything, he is a very good human being having a golden heart. And, last but not the least, he is an excellent team man. TM: Do you think merging ISL & I League will be good for Indian football? SG: Am not an expert to comment about this. However, I will support anything that is good for Indian Football. TM: Last question. If you have to say something to the Mohunbagan fans, what will you say? SG: We have the ability to retain the crown. Please be with us. Keep supporting. TM: Thanks a lot Shouvik for your time. Wish you all the very best for the coming season. SG: Thank you Team. My pleasure.
